Indio macaws are the first (and currently only) purposely-bred fifth generation macaw, hatched and named by Todd Marcus Birds Exotic in 2021 or 2022. These hybrids appear almost indistinguishable from the majority of capri macaws, as they are mostly red or yellow with scarlet-like faces and flight feathers. Indios are 96.875% scarlet macaw and only 3.125% blue and gold macaw.
