Blue and gold macaw x Blue-throated macaw (Blueberry / Wagler’s gold macaw)

After blue-throated macaws entered captivity, they were commonly crossed with blue and gold macaws due to the misnomer that they were the same species. While these hybrids are still possible to find today, they have become much rarer and are typically bred on accident. Blueberry macaws, as a few have called them, are an even split between both parents with a gold chest and cheeks, a blue backside, and a fully black bill. The best identifiers of a blueberry macaw are a blue-green crown (instead of fully green) and a dark blue chin marking (instead of black).
