Although it has a lot of red coloration, this mutation is separate from red factor. When the bird is young (pictured left), it has red-tipped feathers on its chest, nape, wings, and back. However, as the bird matures (pictured right), many of these red feathers are molted out – similar to opaline green-cheeked conures.
