Dominant Yellow-cheek Cockatiel

A mutation discovered by an American breeder in 1996 that results in buttercup yellow cheeks. While it looks somewhat similar to the pastel-face mutation, the yellow-gold shade of the dominant’s cheeks can be used to differentiate the two. It’s believed this mutation is closely related to orange-face in peach-faced lovebirds. An adult male is pictured.
