Cockatiel x Galah cockatoo (Galahtiel/Cockalah)

A well-known hybrid that began as an accidental breeding between a male galah and female cockatiel. Only one bird from the first clutch survived, but more have been produced since. These hybrids are certainly infertile and suffer from major skeletal and internal deformation due to the vast anatomical differences between each species. While juveniles and females are grey with dark orange cheeks and white-streaked wings, males develop a bright orange face once they mature (pictured second).
