Military macaw x Scarlet macaw (Shamrock macaw)

Believed to be the second hybrid macaw ever bred in captivity (first reported in 1901 in a zoological publication), shamrock macaws are now very common. They have a bright red crown and front, a green backside, and usually have red and yellow wings. Shamrock macaws differ from calico macaws (green-winged x military) by being smaller in size and having thinner facial stripes.
