Plum-headed parakeet x Slaty-headed parakeet

Often incorrectly called “intermediate parakeets” due to their close resemblance of the real intermediate parakeets, hybrids almost always have darker lower beaks whereas the real species does not. Their head coloring, too, tends to be a little brighter on males. These hybrids were first bred in 1934 by the marquess of Travistock and said to reach their full plumage upon the first molt.
